We are looking for a User Experience Research Intern to drive valuable insights into product features, users and influencers, and product trends in the US market. As an intern on the User Experience Research team, you will support the entire research process, collaborating closely with cross-functional counterparts in Product Management, Design, Engineering, and Strategy to influence key strategy and execution decisions. You will help define future features and products as you spearhead a human-centered decision-making process and develop the most useful and usable product experiences for a global audience. This 100% remote 12-week Internship Program will begin in May/June 2022. While remote, all interns will need to be physically located in one of the 12 locations approved for US remote employment: California, Washington State, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Washington D.C., Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, and Michigan. Note: Your location this summer will be based on your preference (i.e. you can work from New Jersey for a Los Angeles-based team, etc.) as long as it is listed above. Responsibilities: – Collaborate with product management, design, and research teams to identify important research questions. – Support generative, iterative, and evaluative research to provide feedback on concepts, designs, and the end-to-end user experience. – Lead a capstone user research project end-to-end, and share findings with international stakeholders.


– Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Anthropology, Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or a related field.  – Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2022. – Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative methods, which may include interviews, surveys, ideation sessions, ethnographic field research, usability evaluation, statistical modeling, and diary studies. – Comfort with utilizing data to define and test hypotheses. – Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills. – Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects. – Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices. – Strong interest in social media apps, user and influencer behavior, and associated trends TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
